The Living City Impact Awards recognize outstanding groups and individuals for initiatives that enrich communities in Toronto and Region Conservation Authority’s (TRCA) jurisdiction and help advance its mandate.

Overview
The Living City Impact Awards recognize individuals and organizations that are helping to advance one of the four pillars of TRCA’s Living City vision:
- Healthy Rivers and Shorelines: Impact in this category may be related to water efficiency and innovation, wastewater management, stormwater management, erosion risk management, green infrastructure, etc.
- Greenspace and Biodiversity: Impact in this category may be related to land securement and management, ecological restoration, parks management, species monitoring, invasive species management, etc.
- Sustainable Communities: Impact in this category may be related to active transportation, renewable energy, climate change mitigation, waste management, urban planning, community development, etc.
- Business Excellence: Impact in this category may be related to business innovation, entrepreneurship, professional development and advancement training, economic development, etc.
Eligibility
Eligible nominees include but are not limited to TRCA’s partners, supporters and peers in the following areas:
- Government
- Community
- Business
- Philanthropy
- Education
Nominees may be either groups or individuals and must be affiliated in some way with TRCA or its fundraising arm, Toronto and Region Conservation Foundation.
Nomination Process
2019 Award nominations are now closed.
Selection and Award
Toronto and Region Conservation Foundation’s selection committee will review all nominations. Submissions will be evaluated based on how the nominee’s project or accomplishment has (a) advanced a Living City pillar, and (b) positively impacted communities within TRCA’s jurisdiction.
The committee will also look for one or more of the following key qualities exemplified through the nominee’s work:
- Creativity
- Innovation
- Collaboration
- Leadership
Decisions will be made in early October. Awards will be presented at the 26th Annual Living City Environmental Dinner being held on Thursday, November 7, 2019.
In addition to receiving their awards at the dinner, winners will be recognized in a special spotlight feature on Toronto and Region Conservation Foundation’s website.
